Local knowledge, artisanal fisheries and conservation initiatives in Atauro Island

The diversity of coastal landscapes found in Atauro offers a great range of habitats to a high diversity of marine species and are a unique asset for the development of tourism. We explore here how conservation initiatives of coastal areas enhance, sustain and/or limit traditional artisanal fisheries in Atauro Island.
